Sunshine Yellow!

Picked up this new dress from Torrid the other day. I don't have much yellow in my closet, so I thought it would be a cool color to add to my wardrobe.... perfect for Spring! I love the fabric... it's so light.

I paired it with my favorite black cardigan (that is now missing some buttons because I wear it so often) and my hot pink belt.

Close up of my belt, necklace (gift from my boyfriend), my ring, and my manicure.

Easter nails! I'm not sure that it looks enough like a bunny, but who cares. It's good enough for me! Haha.

Another eShakti dress that I love!

So, from previous posts, it's probably become obvious that I love eShakti. This is another dress I got back in December/January during a killer sale.

It's such a beautiful color. This color option is no longer available on their site, but they do have it in yellow and green. You can see them here!

It's not actually crooked.... but I love how the buttons go all the way down the front of the dress. And the piping! It's so cute and comfortable.

It ties in the front, which is something I'm not used to because I typically wear stretch belts with everything, but I kinda like it. Look at how perfectly it matches my cardigan!

Showing off my ring and nail polish.

Blue & Red!

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. A lot has been going on, but I'll try and catch up with my most recent outfits, starting with this one!

I got this lovely blue lace dress from Forever 21. It's gorgeous, isn't it?! It's so bright and perfect for spring.

Blue & Red is one of my favorite color combos. It has that nautical feel to it. (And I realize the hand on stomach is a typical pregnant pose... but the only baby I have inside of me is a food baby.... I was just trying to show off my ring & belt, haha).

You can sort of see my earrings in this photo. They've got little cupcakes on them!

Details:

Cardigan - Ross
Belt - Torrid
Tights - Wal-Mart (They got a tear in them after 10 minutes so I had to take them off…. first time wearing them, too.)

Valentine's Day!

So, even though I didn't have much to do this Valentine's Day, I still wanted to get dolled up. I'm in a long distance relationship, and unfortunately we had to spend another Valentine's Day apart, so to keep myself from feeling sad & lonely, I put on my lovely heart print dress from eShakti. I tried to resist the urge to buy it when I first saw it listed on their site, but when I saw that it was 20% off, I couldn't resist.

I've ordered several things from eShakti over the past several months, and the biggest issue I've had was how much the garments have wrinkled. This dress, however, doesn't wrinkle at all! It also fits wonderfully, and flows beautifully. I felt like twirling all day long.

I planned on pairing it with a red cardigan, but I wanted to switch things up a bit. I got this turquoise cardigan at Costco (yeah... seriously!) for $15. I thought they looked pretty cute together. I also threw on a red stretch belt (favorite accessory!) to tie the two together.

All in all, I am very happy with this dress. I think it's my new favorite dress and I'm planning on wearing it on my trip to Las Vegas next month.

Oh, and I can't forget about my Valentine's manicure! Not the best photos, but it was a really simple manicure that turned out really cute! Look at the little heart on my thumb nail! <3 (The ugly bruise is from having blood drawn last week... ouch!)

Oh, and even though I didn't get to spend this Valentine's Day with my honey bunch, I'm looking forward to future Valentine's Days with him. He was super sweet and got both me AND Betty a card! You gotta love a man who gets your dog a Valentine's card! <3

My beautiful eShakti dress!

I cannot express how much I love this dress! I'm always keeping my eye out for retro-inspired dresses, and this one really caught my eye as soon as I saw a friend had posted it on Tumblr. I immediately rushed to eShakti.com to check it out.

I bought it when it was on sale for $32.95. However, I had a $20 off code so the total came out to a whopping $12.95 with free shipping! Such a great deal! (So much so, that I bought it in red, as well!)

I'll be honest... I've heard some mixed reviews about eShakti. I was slightly worried about the quality, but with such a great deal, it wouldn't have been a big loss. However, this dress is very well made! The fabric is sturdy and it hugs my curves in all the right places. It's also very comfortable. The only down-side is that it wrinkles quite a bit. I ironed and steamed the heck out of it. I wore it for about 5 hours today and it didn't wrinkle too bad, though. Oh, and it has a side zip which is almost impossible to zip up on your own!

I love the full skirt! It makes me feel so pretty. I felt like spinning in circles all day!

I wore it to go antique shopping with my Mom. I bought a vintage telephone pin which will surely show up in a future OOTD post.

I paired it with this purse. I got it at Charming Charlie  last week. If you haven't heard of Charming Charlie, it's an accessory store! Everything in the store is color-coded. Check 'em out!

This dress shows quite a bit of cleavage, so it'll definitely show off the goods, haha.

And lastly, my manicure. It's basically a coat of black polish with a coat of silver glitter and OPI's Rainbow Connection on top. I used a matte topcoat, then added glossy black tips.

If you love the dress, you can find it here! The color I purchased is no longer available, but you can get it in red or royal blue! It's $64.95, but if you are new to eShakti, when you sign up they will send you a $20 off gift certificate! This dress is definitely worth it!

My outfits throughout the year

Since the year is almost over, I thought I'd share some of my favorite outfits from 2011. This was the first year where I really began to experiment with my style. I finally started to wear dresses & skirts instead of hiding in jeans and t-shirts.

I love this denim dress from Forever 21. I believe I scored it for around $15! That cardigan (from Ross) is my favorite and shows up in many of my OOTD posts.

My most favorite denim skirt! It's a high-waisted pencil skirt I purchased from Torrid several years ago during their 50% off clearance sale. I was too insecure to wear it at the time, so it sat in my closet for a good while. The crazy shoes are from Hot Topic.

This is one of my favorite full-body photos of myself. I look happy and confident. That pencil skirt is from Forever 21, and the shirt is from Ross.

That tunic was only $9.99 from Ross! I paired it with leggings ($4.99 from Forever21), and some $10 sandals. Also, the introduction of my most favorite red stretch belt!

I love that shirt from Torrid. I believe I got it during their 50% off clearance sale, as well.  The jeans and cardigan are from Ross.

My Goosebumps skirt! I made it myself from some bedsheets I found at a thrift store. I'm still super proud of it.

My awesome cherry cardigan from Torrid's Retro Chic collection! How perfect does it look with my cat-eye frames?

These are probably my favorite pair of jeans... and they were only $15! This entire outfit is from Ross.

And last, but not least!....

Betty and I on Halloween! The dress is also from Torrid's Retro Chic collection. I was Lucy and Betty was Ethel.

I'm hoping for lots of happiness in the New Year and hope to gain even more confidence! I'm so thankful to the fatshion community for really helping me discover that I am beautiful just the way I am.

I hope you all have a very happy 2012!

First order with eShakti!

Today on Tumblr, I saw a photo of this lovely dress on my dashboard:

I immediately had to head on over to eShakti.com to check it out. It's on sale through December 31st for $32.95!

I've never purchased from eShakti before. I've heard of them and I've seen some great fatshion posts featuring lovely dresses from them. I'm not really sure why I hadn't really checked the site out until today, but I'm glad I did!

When I saw this dress, I had to have it. The best part is, when I signed up for an account on their site, they sent me a $20 off gift certificate! They have free shipping  (to the Unites States, I believe), so it was only $12.95 total! That barely covers the cost of shipping, so I basically just got a free dress!

I'll do a review of it once I receive it. I've heard mixed reviews about their quality, but for $12.95, you can't really go wrong... right?

Stay tuned!
